COLLAGE WORKSHOP WITH INSTALLATION ARTIST JULIE ALPERT (REGISTRATION CLOSED)

  • Archer Studios at Tulsa Artists Fellowship 109 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard Tulsa, OK, 74103 United States (map)

COLLAGE WORKSHOP HOSTED BY ARTIST JULIE ALPERT

MAGE: Julie Alpert, Eyes, 2020, paper, photocopies, colored pencil, marker and duct tape, 42x30x4 inches. Photo courtesy of the artist.

Join installation artist and Tulsa Artist Award recipient Julie Alpert as she leads a collage workshop inspired by her art-making process and materials. Alpert will share how she uses readily-available art and office supplies like paper, paint, tape, markers, and photocopies to create custom collage materials and then layers them to end up with something almost 3-dimensional. Following the demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to create their own collage inspired by Alpert's work and even incorporate her personal collage materials.

This free and fun workshop is geared towards adults and young adults. Prior art-making experience is not required. All tools and materials will be provided. Each participant will leave with the collage they personally created during the workshop. This public program was originally developed for Crystal Bridges Museum in 2022 and Julie is excited to share it with the Tulsa community!
