EXHIBITION CLOSING RECEPTION
In conjunction with the Bruce Goff Center for the Continuous Present and the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture, awardee Karl Jones curates ‘Lego-cites of The Mayo Hotel’ for the Archer Studio building entry gallery. The newest Lego construction by Lego Build OK of Tulsa’s most famous hotel by artist Wyatt Dunham is displayed with artworks by local artists alongside archival objects from The Mayo Hotel collection. The new Lego structure stands over three feet tall and presents details of the hotel’s exterior and sections of its interior. Dunham’s previous Lego construction of the Bruce Goff-designed Spotlight Theater (aka Riverside Studio) makes a special return appearance. Inspired by the exhibition, Jones will premiere a new puppet musical about the iconic guests who graced The Mayo Hotel.
